Many of you have heard me preach the benefits of getting your body fat tested. Case in point, one of my latest Facebook postings. A woman’s before and after picture of her midsection with the all important stat, her weight. After a year of CrossFit and Paleo 80/20, she gained 10lbs.
Body fat vs. lean muscle mass! Muscle weighs more than fat!
Last week I went and had my body fat tested for probably the fifth time. The guy is starting to recognize me, Yikes! While we were talking he said that he sees the best results from the CrossFitters who come in. Many people come in and have lost weight overall, but have lost lean muscle mass too. The overall change in body fat percentage is on the low end. For CrossFitters it’s an entirely different story. They don’t show as big of numbers in total weight loss, but have much larger losses in body fat percentage. CrossFitters tend to loose body fat and gain lean muscle mass.
